So, Wednesday my sister and I took the kiddos rollerskating. It was the first time for Lily and Payton, but they geared up with their helmets and tiny little skates and were ready to GO! Unfortunately, their feet weren't quite as ready to rumble.
As you can see by the picture - the rest of the skaters are a blur as they speed around the rink. We were goin' at a MUCH slower pace...pausing approximately every 20 seconds for me to pull Lily off the floor. But, she had a sweaty blast. We were out there for at least an hour, and her hair was completely matted to her head by the time the helmet came off. Honestly, I had a great time too and will definitely be taking her back.
She went to bed early and easily that night saying "I'm tired from all dat skating!" The video isn't great - but it does explain why my right arm and lower back hurt so badly!

The roller skating looks like lots of fun! I'll tell you...it has been YEARS since I had skates on and if I went now, it would have been ME someone was picking up off the floor every 20 seconds. LOL!

Ha ha...helment, great idea. Of course Annslee falls on purpose and I'd really need the booty padding most. We are going to a skating bday party tonight so I really enjoyed your post. Hope she recovered from being soooo tired!
Oh my goodness.. the memories ... I haven't been rollerskating forever. I think it was back in junior high!! It looks like you had so much fun!
Now Lily is also ready for Anna's skating competition! One time at skating is all it takes! Smiles!

OMG that is adorable. Her itty bitty skates are killing me! The first time we took look skating I nearly died laughing she was so bad at it and thought she was fabby.

OH what a fun time!!! Mommy and daughter times are just the absolute best ever! She's such a little dumplin' in her roller skates holding mommy's hand! Way to go Mom...you rock!!!

I was a rollerskating waitress for Dis*ney years ago! I love to skate, but haven't been on them in years - Em has only ever done the Fisher Price skates...she's just exiting kindergarten, so you may have inspired me to get her on real skates. Don't worry, I'll adequately prepare my back:)
