Don't let the picture fool ya folks! Lily may APPEAR to be happy as a clam in her "big girl bed", but that is only cuz momma is right there taking her pic. Her demeanor slightly changes when I try to leave the room.
So, for now she is still sleeping with me.
Don't worry about us, though. I call these things "battles" but I know that in the big scheme of things -- they are nothin.
We are doing really well over here. Lily is an awesome little girl, and I actually really admire her strong will. I think it will take her far in life. Not to mention the fact that she "snuggles" like no other.
To be continued...

You didn't lose.....you chose to have snuggle time. Who wouldn't with that cutie! Look at it this way she won't want to sleep with you forever just like no kid ever shows up to college in diapers!
Don't stress.
Gotta take the snuggles while we can get them! ;)
Nikki,
You've got one tough cookie on your hands. I can tell you have tried nearly everything. Just hang in there. Does Lily realize that her "sister" sleeps in a big girl bed?? Maybe "sister" could sleepover and show Lily that it's fun to sleep in her room/bed. I do think that a big sister can influence the little ones in a positive manner many times. Just thinking. Of course, Erin doesn't run all over Target wreaking havoc and Mya doesn't follow that example. ;)
I agree - take it while you can - soon enough she won't even want to snuggle - BUT it is hard to wait for that to happen sometimes! HEY - LOVE THE NEW LOOK TOO!!!
The blog is looking alittle different. I like the changes, pretty lily picture and gotta love the danicing monkey.
Opps, looks like I was fooled! What a little stinker! Love the new blog layout! Lookin good! :P
Aw, shoot. You got me. Your daughter is just adorable (how could I have forgotten to mention that in earlier comments?).
Hello Nikki...and Jay (Happy belated B-day by the way)
You guys are doing just fine..no worries. Theo still has to fall asleep in our bed..then we transfer him to his bed. We have been prepping him that when he turns 3 on January 28th, that he becomes an official "Big Boy". From that point on, he has to go to sleep in his own big boy bed...no more sleeping in mommy and daddy's bed. He seems all for it...now....so, I'll let ya know if it actually works out on the 29th. You guys have a beautiful little girl...maybe Lily can come over one day and play with Theo's Dora and Diego collection...it is kind of ridiculous.
Anyway, we wish you guys were here in NM and we'll keep trying to get you guys to come to the Land of Enchantment! Take care.
No Nikki, you didn't "lose", Lily will eventually go to her "big girl" bed, and then you'll miss her cutie behind snuggling in bed with you...
I have a Lily too; she is four and we struggle with the same thing. We have attempted several times to get her in her own bed, especially when it became the 'big girl bed'. It is particularly hard when none of us get a good night sleep (she is a tosser and turner) But I know that it does not last forever as I have raised 5 bio kids that slept in our bed now and again when they were toddlers (and I did miss it when it was over). Good luck with your attempts, but know that it will not last in the long run (I think 5 is the magic age of independence in that department if I remember correctly). But if your attmepts are successful in the short run, give me some tips:) By the way, your daughter is just beautiful!
Oh how I know about a strong willed girl. I think it will serve them well in the long run. In the short run enjoy the snuggles!
Sorry it has been a while. Lily is just too cute. And do not worry, there will come a day you wish Lily would want to sleep near you again.
NO ONE HAS EVER SENT A CHILD OFF TO COLLEGE WITH THEM STILL SLEEPING IN THEIR BED, SO I SAY ENJOY IT AND KNOW THAT SHE WILL GET IN HER BED WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT... I LOVE THOSE WARM SNUGGLY LITTLE LEGS AS I SLEEP ... EMILY WALKS INTO OUR ROOM ABOUT 4 EVERY MORNING AND WE JUST SNOOZE TOGETHER TILL TIME TO GET UP ..
LOVE, GWEN
