Big girl updates

Our weekend with our BIG GIRL was pretty fabulous. She did very well in her own bed. I mean, she has about 100 stall tactics. My favorite? She will come downstairs to tell us that she does NOT have to go potty. OK.

I heard her on the moniter talking to Jay last night (as he sat with her for "two minutes") about everything under the sun; small talk at its finest. But he just kept shh'ing her. So she tells him she needs lotion for her "bwy skin"(hoping for some pity) Again, she strikes out. Then she says she's hungry which is a total crock... those of you who know her know that she is NEVER hungry. She finally exhausts all of her excuses and falls asleep. And, she did actually make it through an entire night without calling for me at all...that was huge. I know this may be a long road, but we're doin' it. No turning back now.

Saturday was another first for us. We took her to a friend's 4th birthday party and LEFT (to do some Christmas shopping) and picked her up two hours later. When we arrived back she just smiled and yelled "Mommy, I had fun!" Who is this kid? She seems to be growing and changing at warp speed...I posted this picture because it is one of very few things that DOESN'T seem to be changing. My girl LOVES to be a ballerina and always has...I actually have a bunch of pictures from her dance class last week that I'll post soon. This one was taken at home (before class.) I guess you could say she was warming up?

Now, for a couple Lil tidbits from the last few days:

-Lily was telling my mom she wanted "Chutes and Ladders" for Christmas..."You buy dat for me bwamma?" To which my mom replies "Yes, Lily, I'll get that for you for Christmas." Then Lily goes on to say: "Mommy bought you a bible for Chwissmiss, Bwamma." My mom and I were laughing hysterically. Then she proceeds to say we need wrapping paper to wrap it up for her... Hmmmm. why bother now? My little blabbermouth.

-Lily got a goodie bag from the birthday party she attended. In it were "Crazy 8's" playing cards. We were sitting down to play and I asked her if she knew how to shuffle. She said YES as she quickly stood up and proceeded to give a big swing of her foot saying "SHUFFLE. STEP...I learn dat in dance pwass." (Oh yeah, she not only loves ballet. Tap too.)

- After I put her to bed I was walking toward the door and she asks "Momma, are you going back downstairs where you wiv?" I said, "Well, I am going downstairs to sleep, Lily." To which she says, "Oh. I wiv upstairs."

So, if you need to find my big girl ballerina blabbermouth - she lives upstairs in the princess wing.

When I read your posts, the smile always creeps up on me!!
My eldest little blabbermouth puddin'pop told me "Daddy got you an Ipod for Xmas Mom, no, no, I mean a drill from Home Depot(insert her giggle her)".
I couldn't do anything but laugh myself silly as I watched Hubby walk away shaking his head. LOL
Loved this post.

Yay love the Lily conversations. Great job on another night in her big girl bed. Hope you guys did not get any freezing rain last weekend. That does not sound fun at all. Sounds rather dangerous. Can't wait to see dance photos.

So glad Lily is getting used to the big bed. And like every good kid she got pretty quickly all the tricks to keep daddy or mommy close by and push bed time with some funny reasons.
Maƫlle is pretty creative too at that time of the day lol.
Thanks Nikky for sharing the Lily's quotes that make me laugh and Lily's pics that make me melt. She is such a sweetheart.
