Our Saturday...

Went to Home Depot for this month's project. Lily and her cousins built race cars this time. This is usually Jay's special time with Lily, but she wanted us to go as a "famiwee", so I tagged along. (That is why we actually have pictures this time.)

When we got home they built a snowman. (Well, Jay did most of the work) But, Lily did her part. She named him "Snowy"...then she gave him a big hug. When I asked her if I could get my picture taken with them she said "Yeah, but I'm gonna hode Snowy's hand."
I'm just not sure she could get any sweeter.

It's weird, we had a really nice day as a family. But, there is still a part of me that never feels like it's enough. Lily still managed to watch too much TV, and spend too much time on the computer (while Jay and I watched a movie in the other room). That's my problem. I clean, but the house is never clean enough. I do, but there is always more to be done. I love my kiddo, but I too often think about the veggies that she is not eating instead of the fruit that she actually is. Does that make sense? Anyway, God has been working on my heart in this area. I'm a work in progress.

A fun day for all!! We went to Kid's workshop, too (thanks to Nikki and Lily tellin us about it!!) :)

You're a great Momma, Nikki and even tho many of us think we don't do enough as parents our kiddos do well and grow to loving adults!!

All you have to do is look at Lily Baby's face and know how happy and content she is!! Golly!! I always write a book don't I? :)

Love the snowman, especially his hat, it looks like a garbage can lid, too funny. Lilly is just a darling child. What a cute personality she has. Don't sweat the small things mom, you're doing a great job!

We all worry about too much T.V, computers, not enough veggies, my list could go on.
I think once Spring arrives in our northern neck of the woods, we will turn off the screens and enjoy being outdoors(the appetites all pick up too, maybe they'll eat their greens, LOL).
I loved your family day, Lily's car was fantastic!! Memories that will last a lifetime.
P.s You never have to worry about "not enough", your the best!! Mom, hugs. ;)

The fact that you worry that you're doing enough shows that you're a great mom!!
What an awesome day you had as a "famiwe"! I wish there was a Home Depot close by. Maia would love to go for project days. And "Snowy" is too funny - love his big head!

That's one great snowman! Sounds like you had a great day!

I think we all worry that we're not doing enough with our kids. I think about that all the time, especially since my boys are getting so big and are hardly ever home...ugh...makes me sad!

Have a great week!

WHat a great day! Thanks for sharing he fun with us:)

I am so thankful God led me here this evening...feeling overwhelmed, under competant and just plain ol' "total work in progress" today - I am ready to head off to bed and your words echo exactly how I am feeling - it helps to know others share the road and sometimes with the same heart...thank you.

Happy Monday!

That is an awesome snowman!!

The HD workshop is a great idea! It would be a fun daddy/daughter thing...I will have to mention it to my husband.

I bet most of us Moms don't feel as if we are doing enough. It is hard to juggle everything, isn't it? We do the best we can each day, but still worry a bit. But isn't that one of our Mommy jobs...worrying about our kids? : )

Home Depot day! Love it! DH took the kids to our local HD on Saturday, but they weren't doing the building thing because there was a storm! Bummer! Lowe's does it too, every other week, so we try to hit them up sometimes, too. They give out patches for the apron, instead of the HD pins. The kids love them both!

That is just too cool for words.... I know she will cherish those special times for the rest of her life...
I do understand what you are saying... so many things to do... so much I want to do... the days simply do not have enough hours in them.
I am certain that you do an amazing job and I know the Lord will continue to bless you.

Yes, Nikki, that feeling often hits me as I lay my head on my pillow then wonder why I have trouble sleeping! It is a Mom thing and I also believe the "enemy" would like to make us feel defeated. I take those times as a call to pray for each of my children, knowing I will never do every thing right, but trusting that our prayers and heavenly Father helps us along the way. Wish I could tell you it gets easier, but teenagers will keep you on your knees! Lamentations 2:19 Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward HIm for the life of your young children.

Anna was amazed at the gigantic snowman! Don't see those down here in GA!

You hang in there Mommy - we ALL feel that way - and you DO SO much with Lily - really, if I compared myself - it would be scary!!!

Nikki,

What a fun day you guys had. I know what you mean about never feeling like it is enough. I think that's just part of being a mom. We always feel guilty about something or another. Well, you are a fantastic Mommy and look how happy Lily is! :)

Hugs,
Jonni

Nikki....I just came to your blog via Kim's. Your little Lily is just precious.....I had to comment on this post as I see that Lily has the same puppy that our Sophie has....Well, she actually has 3 of them....just so because there is always one in the wash, one in hand and one to spare, just in case. Have a great week!
