Playing catch up

These pictures were taken over the past couple weeks - a glimpse at what we'd been up to when it was warm enough to get outside.
Now it is chilly again, so we are back to indoor (yuck) activities...but here is a look back at our happier, warmer days.

We went to the park where Lily can climb and be free - and of course A LOT of time is spent on the swings. She loves the "big girl" swing, but now and then she'll get in the baby swing so I can push her REALLY REALLY high.

Then, of course, we spend tons of time right in our own front yard. You won't be surprised to see Lily dressed in her ballerina costume. I mean, a girl's gotta look good for the neighbors! And, usually she's not out there dancing alone for long...one or more of our sweet neighbors usually comes by to play,

Laney, is Lily's tu-tu clad friend! Could they be any cuter?
And, Wyatt, who is handing Lily a bouquet of flowers he just picked, is going to be a lifelong friend FOR SURE. Those two are 2 peas in a pod.

We are so blessed to have such wonderful neighbors...the kids play really well together! (And the moms have a whole lot of fun together too!)
And the last picture shows Lily trying to clean up a bit. (our yard could really use it). She really enjoys cleaning up...especially "brooming".
Wish I could say the same.

In other news, we spent hours yesterday moving all of the rooms around in our house. Lily's bedroom is now DOWNstairs, across the hall from ours. She hasn't been sleeping well in her bed - again - so this was our bright idea to make her less "scared" in her own bedroom. Lily was SO excited about the change...must have thanked us 100 times for her new beauty-ful room. Man, we were feelin' hopeful. Unfortunately, I ended up sleeping in bed with her last night...Ugh. We'll keep trying.
In happier news, Lily and I went and got haircuts yesterday. Lily's hair looks really cute - pictures (and a video) to come.
Happy Friday!

Happy Friday to you. What a wonderful neighborhood you live in. How great that there are other kids to play with (and Moms. Sorry about the sleep stuff. I feel your pain. J slept in his crib and then a big bed no problem in NY or NJ - we moved here when he was 4 and he just couldn't sleep alone. Our room is on the third floor by itself. We tried everything - new bunkbeds, cool room - guess what - he sleeps in our room on a mattress we keep under the bed. I know, it's terrible but I needed my sleep and I'm sure when he 15 he won't be up there. This is in no way advise for you to do the same - just sharing my pathetic story :)
Enjoy the weekend.

I would love to be your neighbor and look out my window to see two little ballerinas dancing and sweeping. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the new room is the trick:)

Cute pictures! Just love her in the tutu. Yeah, we've taken some "back steps" with the sleep thing too. Funny thing, when she stays at her grandma's house, she sleeps by herself and doesn't wake up all night! Go figure....

Have a great Mother's Day!!

Maybe some day we can get our Lilys' together for a play date?!

Happy Friday - hoping the sleeping issues get better. I think the room closer to mom and dad was a great idea.

Love the pictures - I feel like I know Lily form your descriptions and the pictures - she is adorable and so full of life, what a total blessing!

Okay off to beat down the basket of ironing - it is staring at me!

Have a happy weekend!

Love all the photos Nikki. She is just so cute in her ballerina photos. She looks beautiful even when its out playing in the yard. I am glad we are not the only who's kid does not sleep well in her room. Morgan is still in our bed and Aiden still pops up in the middle of the night. Ugh is right!
Happy Mother's day my friend.

I wish I could send some of our warm weather your way. It's been warm and beautiful here.

Sorry the first night wasn't what you hoped for. I hope it gets better. Spicy Girl's room is right across the hall from ours. We have to leave her door wide open until she falls asleep. She gets scared too, but at least I can sleep in my own bed...without a little one in it.

Oh, how I understand about the sleeping issues... I don't know why but Hannah has only slept through the night a handful of times.... Sometimes you just get so very tired...
Sweet dreams to my sweet girls...

Beautiful Lily and beautiful haircut. It sounds like she is liking her big girl room. I love the picture of her sweeping in her tu-tu. What a little darling.
