Bad momma! (Good daddy!)

I have decided that I am not a good winter momma. Lily and I spend A LOT of time indoors during these ice cold months, and I am NOT one of those creative, artsy-fartsy types who has all sorts of fun activities lined up. (I truly wish I was!) We color, we play hide n seek, we read, and today we cleaned. Sounds like a blast, doesn't it? Lily kept looking out the window at all the snow and asking to go out and lay in it. (Yes, lay in it)
I kept nicely saying, "No sweetie, wait till your daddy gets home. Now, get the duster and help mommy. We have a lot of work to do here, and you missed a spot."

I did allow for a lunch break, and we also took time to make some Valentine's cards for daddy. Lily is a huge fan of "Beewentimes Day"...my mom gave her a bag full of goodies. Candy hearts, chocolates, red heart suckers, and Dora stickers. Everything that makes her heart skip a beat!

Anyway, daddy FINALLY returned home from a hard day's work and I said "Hi honey, put on your snow pants and take your daughter outside to play." To which he replied, "OK dear...let's go Lil!"I had to take some pictures of them outside playing in the dark.
They looked so hilarious! But, Lily had a blast and I had a warm bath ready for her when she came in. (It was the least I could do). See, Bad Momma! Good daddy!!!!

I totally agree with you. Emmie is the one that takes Sophia out. Now once it's warm and sunny.....it's a whole different story! ;)

In the dark, huh? Now that is truly a GOOD daddy. Our indoor times are getting boring too. Have to find some more stuff to keep busy. Mya had the Elmer's glue out today. You can imagine how that went!!

Ahahaha! That picture of Lily hanging in the swing in the dark cracks me up.

Hey, I don't have a kid yet, but I'm pretty sure kids learn a lot by mimicing Mommy and feel like they're playing to boot! No artsy/fartsy stuff necessary! I haven't heard of a toddler/preschooler yet who doesn't like to take some paper towels and help clean.(not kidding)

Hey don't feel bad - it took Daddy to plant Valentine's all over the house - what was Mom doing - oh, cleaning, school, etc. I gotta work on the "fun" side!!! :) You are a great mom!!!

See cleaning really can be fun Lily! I'll bet mommy does a good job of making it fun too. We too are so ready for the wintery weather to go away. Even if you try to take them outside you can't make it too long for their little hands and face with these temp extremes.

OMG that is hysterical. You work the childs fingers to the bone just so that you don't have to go outside in the fun, fun, fun, snow. Funniest thing I have read for ages. Thanks so much!

I love this. I am always asking Hannah to help me by going to throw things in the trash for me. She usually likes helping. I think "New Girl" is right they just like to mimic us. You're a great mom.
