We made it!

Yep, Lily's first sleepover went off without a hitch! She made it through the night without her momma, and surprisingly enough, her momma survived without her little girl!!!
Jay and I went to see the movie "300" at the IMAX theatre, which I highly recommend for that particular movie. I liked it. Jay loved it. I mean, I thought it was entertaining enough to sit through the whole thing without a (much needed) bathroom break...so that must say something. Then, we went out to dinner to one of our favorite restaurants "Texas Roadhouse" and it was delicious! Then, we were still feeling somewhat adventurous (but also a little sleepy), so we rented a movie -- "The Illusionist". I thought it was fabulous. Jay fell asleep after 5 minutes! Oh well.
When I went to pick Lily up Saturday morning she didn't want to come home with me. She decided it was more fun to stay with her cousins. I had to bribe her to get her out the door!!!
But, she is home again and I'm a happy camper. It is good to get a (short) break, but it is great to be together again.
I posted this picture keeping with the "sleep" theme. This was taken when she was sick and she fell asleep on the couch while watching a video at 8:00 pm! That NEVER happens. She doesn't normally turn into a pumpkin until midnight.
Anyway, thank you for all of your encouragement and support. You all knew we would be fine...and we were!

Ryan wanted to go and see 300 this weekend. I wasn't interested. I guess I will give it a go next weekend since you said it isn't too bad. We did see Breached. That was pretty good.

We also went to Texas Roadhouse. If only the wait wasn't so long I think we would go there more often.

I am so glad to hear you had a great time, and it sounds like Lily had an even better time. :) Sleepovers with cousins always rock!

I'm glad everything went so well! It sounds like you have an incredible extended family.

Hey, does Texas Roadhouse still serve peanuts? I love peanuts!!

Wow..no bathroom break -- that does say something -- at least for me since I have to get up in the middle of every movie!

I'm glad all went well with the sleep over. Now you know that you have an option when you need a date night. The good thing about options is that they're there if you need them, but you don't have to use them!

See...we told you that it would be ok. I'm glad that you got a night away from your hubby. I am the same way, it is very hard for me to leave Eli with anyone, even his Grandparents and he's 2.

I'm glad everything went well and you and the hubby got some date time. My husband wants to see 300. I wasn't sure if I wanted to, but maybe I will. We loved The Illusionist.

Good to hear the sleepover was a success!
Mmmmm - texmex! yummy
Aren't old married couple dates always so exciting! Why is it that they always end with someone falling asleep during a movie?!

It sounds like you had such a great time and so did Lily. More overnighters for Lily and date night for you all. That picture is too cute!

I loved the movie The Illusionist. My hubby fell asleep watching it too. :) I'm glad to hear a female adult give a rating on 300 ...I got the review on that movie from a 19 year old prude...so I wasn't quite sure how to take it.

I'm so glad your "date" went well. In the last 8 years my husband and I have been able to do that only 3 times. We are SOOOO waiting for the next opportunity we will have...we don't have family that lives close to leave our son with so it makes it harder. You are lucky for that!

I'm glad that you both survived the sleep over. I understand totally about breaks being nice but it is nice to have them back also.

Nikki,
I am so glad to hear that everything went well. John and I want to go see 300 soon. Thanks for letting me know it was good. I have seen the Illusionist and loved it as well. Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors. I really like Texas Roadhouse too. It sounds like everyone had a good time and the picture of Lily is too sweet. It is making me sleepy...

Hugs,
