Big day out!

I know that the pictures (and video) tell the story...I'll just add a few things. Lily did SO well getting her ears pierced. We waited in line behind 2 five year olds (who both chickened out, by the way)...Lily just hopped into the chair and showed them how it was done. She asked the lady exactly what she was planning to do, so she explained it to her step by step. Lily responded by saying "OK, I'm gonna sit real still." And that's what she did. After the first pinch, Lily chuckled. After the second pinch, she said "Thank you. I wanna see myself in a mirror."
And, yes, I let her dress like that in public...Jay was so embarrassed, but she really wanted to wear her tutu and if it isn't hurting anybody I don't argue. She also had her sunglasses on for awhile - you can imagine the staring, pointing, and comments that were flying! But, we couldn't be prouder of our superstar ballerina with pierced ears! She's pretty proud of herself too - the first thing she said when she woke up this morning was "Mommy, my earrings are still in and they sparkle in my nightlight!"

What a little trooper. so brave... She is a beautiful ballerina and I love that you let her wear it to the mall. One time Nicholas was in his Batman cotume and I had to go to WalMart. He begged me to let him wear it. So, I thought... why not.... he had a ball but there were lots of people staring. lol I loved that he didn't care.... he was just being BatMan.
You go Lily....... she too hears the music.

S.G. has been asking to get her ears pierced. Let me back up a little. For the past year, she has been telling us that she did NOT want to get her ears pierced. Now, she has decided she wants to. I'm not sure....she may chicken out. We'll see. Way to go Lily!!

Love the earrings, and what a BIG GIRL! Sophia didn't even blink (they did both at the same time), but the teacher from Thailand living with us wants to get her ears pierced, but is too scared that it will hurt! LOL

Oh what a big girl she is! Mallory has been begging to get hers pierced and I guess I am going to have to give in. I hope she is as brave as Lily. I love that you let her wear what she wants. We only live once and we should enjoy life to its fullest. Who cares what others think. If your sweet daughter is happy, that's all that matters. :)

I think she looks too cute. Great that she was able to sit still. Glenys hasn't even verbalized a wish to have her ears pierced but I think I will still make her wait until she wants to take care of them herself. I waited until college because I am a GREAT BIG CHICKEN!!

I wondered when this would happen with Miss Lily. Emmie was 3 when I pierced hers too. I just don't want to do it with Sophia yet!

The way she dressed is not near as bad as the way some kids dress now days.
You just tell dad to chill.
Have him look around at the kids with 3/4 of their body showing that should not be.
Just pray that she never dresses that way.
Sounds like she was a big brave gal.Not so sure I would be.I hate pain.

The tutu is way too cute and yes, I would let her dress in public that way, have been there and done it myself!

Thanks for sharing the momentous occasion!
