Lily and her "sister"

This evening we went to my parent's house for dinner. It is becoming somewhat of a Monday tradition for us. Lily and I meet my sister and her 3 kiddos out there to hang out and have a nice, home cooked meal since our hubbies work late. Tonight Logan (my sister's oldest child and ONLY daughter) says to me: "Aunt Nikki, I want a sister. I wish Lily was my sister." I thought that was so sweet, and since I obviously know the incredible blessing it is to have a sister -- I told her that they PRACTICALLY ARE sisters. That seemed to make her pretty happy, but it started quite the debate round the dinner table between Logan and her 5 year old brother, Braden.
Logan: (to Lily) "You're my sister. Say sister."
Lily: "sista, sista, sista"
Braden: "No she's not your sister... she is your COUSIN!!!"
Repeat about 5 or 6 times.
This episode lasted until Payton (my sister's 17 month old son) nailed Braden in the head with his sippy cup. Laughter erupts. Never a dull moment when the whole gang is together. I love my family and as sad as I was to see the weekend come to a close, I realize that I really enjoy my Mondays.
Oh, and the night ended with Lily having "Booma" paint her toenails real quick before we left. They were ALREADY painted pink, but she wanted more. I painted them for the first time just the other day and she is a fan. She LOVES her little piggies, and she thinks she is just ALL THAT when her toes are painted. Actually, I agree.

We love to do that too but I never know what to do with her while they are drying - just what I need - polish all over the couch and the carpet - any great ideas over there?!?!?

I buy the quick-dry polish or the spray. Works in a jiffy.

I'll never forget the first time I painted Emmie's nails. She was so serious about it! It is a definate Mom and Daughter moment! I have yet to do it with Sophia. Probably this summer!

Chloe has to show ALL of her brothers a million times - it makes me laugh - but that's also a Sunday morning affair - we get that dress on and she must "show off"!!!
